Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) often referred to by her professionally-known moniker Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer of Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The debut EP Pho, released in October 21st, 2016, was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she launched her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the internet including her independently launched single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes featuring the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. Later in the season, the music was circulating all over Dreamville. The official signing ceremony was held by Dreamville Records on 8 December. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer for J. Cole on his song Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared as a guest artist on two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. And on the 13th of November the singer released two new singles, titled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. They then collaborated on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on February 26, 2019 for her debut album of the same title. A music video was released on the 20th February of 2019 to go along with the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. She was the opening act for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
